Role Description The Accounting Assistant role is a part-time, on-site position based in Mississauga, ON. In this role, the individual supports day-to-day accounting activities, including recording transactions, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining accurate financial records. Responsibilities include reconciling accounts, supporting the preparation of financial statements and reports, and helping with month-end and year-end processes. The Accounting Assistant will work with accounting software to enter data, generate routine reports, and help resolve discrepancies. The role also involves collaborating with team members, responding to internal inquiries about invoices and payments, and contributing to efficient financial operations. Qualifications Strong foundational knowledge of Accounting and Finance principles applicable to day-to-day business operations. Proficiency with Accounting Software and related tools used for data entry, reconciliations, and report generation. Hands-on Bookkeeping skills, including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling accounts. Relevant post-secondary education in Accounting, and relevant experience. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy. Comfort working on-site in a fast-paced, retail-focused environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills; experience in a manufacturing or retail setting is an asset.
