Description
In line with our values of collaboration and integrity, we are seeking a positive and energetic financial controller to contribute to the success of our organization. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Financial Controller plays a key role in the organization’s financial management. He or she contributes to the reliability of financial information, the optimization of processes, and the rigorous monitoring of projects.
Responsibilities/Challenges:

Responsible for day-to-day accounting activities (month-end closing, reconciliations, journal entries);

Validate terms and conditions of revenue contracts; set up revenue contracts and financial projects in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system; coordinate invoicing; prepare claims for government contracts;

Ensure the preparation of financial statements and management reports;

Participate in budget development and budget monitoring;

Ensure financial monitoring of projects (revenue, costs, margins);

Manage and optimize project-based accounting processes;
-
Collaborate with internal teams to monitor various funding sources;

Ensure the completion of financial audits and regulatory compliance;
-
Ensure the application of and compliance with current accounting standards;
-
Manage commercial insurance;
-
Establish and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions;
-
Produce financial analyses to support strategic decision-making;
-
Implement and improve internal controls;
-
Support the finance team in all projects;
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field;
-
At least 7 years of experience;
-
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation;
-
Experience in project-based financial management or in a multi-funding environment (strong asset);
-
Knowledge of ERP systems such as Netsuite (a significant asset);
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP function);
-
Expertise in process documentation.
