Who you are: The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting month-end and quarter end financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role provides accurate financial insights, reporting, and performance analysis to support business decisions and strategic objectives.
This role partners closely with leaders across the organization to develop budgets, monitor financial performance, analyze trends and variances, and identify opportunities for operational and financial improvement. The Senior Financial Analyst helps maintain strong financial controls, supports reporting requirements, and contributes to informed decision-making in a dynamic and growing fintech environment.
What you'll do:
Month-End Close, Reporting and Controls Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close process, with hands-on involvement to ensure timely and accurate completion of all close activities. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for balance sheet and income statement accounts. Perform and oversee general ledger reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure all reconciling items are resolved in a timely manner. Maintain detailed month-end schedules and working papers to support financial results and audit requirements. Apply and maintain compliance with IFRS 15 revenue recognition standards, including review of customer contracts and revenue arrangements. Maintain and reconcile deferred revenue, WIP, and revenue recognition schedules. Collaborate with operational teams to ensure accurate project accounting and revenue timing. Support internal and external audits by coordinating documentation and financial information.
Financial Planning & Analysis Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, providing insights on financial performance against targets Support financial modeling and analysis to inform business initiatives and strategic decisions. Provide financial insights and reporting to support leadership decision-making.
Financial Controls & Compliance Maintain strong financial controls and support compliance with internal financial policies.
Operational Finance Support Partner with department leaders to support operational budgeting and cost management.
Process Improvement & Collaboration Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting efficiency, and data accuracy. Support improvements to reporting tools, and dashboards.
What you bring: 3 – 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial analysis. Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. CPA designation acquired or close to completion. Experience on full-cycle month-end close, financial reporting and audit processes. Experience with forecasting and variance analysis. Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, complex formula and data analysis. Understanding of software business models (licenses, subscriptions, services). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Bonus Points if you have the following: Experience working in fintech, SaaS, or technology organizations. Experience in NetSuite and Blackline. Understanding of IFRS accounting standards, particularly IFRS 15 revenue recognition.
