Our client is among the largest real estate developers in North America and is currently launching a Ready Mix Concrete division. We are seeking a Controller who is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Ready-Mix Concrete division, ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost control, and compliance with accounting standards. This role works closely with plant operations, dispatch, sales, and senior leadership to monitor production costs, fleet and equipment expenses, and job profitability. The Controller plays a key role in providing financial insights that support operational efficiency, cost management, and strategic decision-making across ready-mix concrete plants and related logistics operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Build the accounting and finance function for a newly established ready-mix operation Recruit, train, mentor, and lead the accounting team from scratch Support implementation of ERP systems, financial processes, and reporting frameworks Establish internal controls, policies, and procedures Lead budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, and financial reporting Develop management reporting processes to support operational decision-making Build a strong financial foundation that supports both day-to-day execution and future growth Ensure the finance function is practical, scalable, and closely aligned with operational needs Partner with operations leadership on pricing, margins, cost control, and performance analysis Support the launch and growth of the business with practical, hands-on financial leadership

REQUIREMENTS: Concrete manufacturing industry experience CPA ERP implementation experience Strong financial reporting, process design, controls, and business partnering capabilities 5+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience
