Your Opportunity Our Toronto office is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing Assurance team with a focus on asset management, including private equity firms, venture capital firms, hedge funds, mutual funds and investment fund managers. This is a new role and the successful candidate will own the following responsibilities: Perform audit engagements on a variety of asset management clients inline with IFRS and ASPE Effectively and efficiently handle audit tasks for engagements with multiple elements (i.e. multiple funds) within a team environment, including risk assessment and planning, control testing, substantive audit testing including preparing working papers and analyzing complex accounting issues Build positive working relationships with clients and handle all client deliverables and communications in an effective and professional manner Effectively communicate with senior team members regarding progress updates and issues on an ongoing basis Engage in training staff and invest in the professional development of your team How do we define success for your role? Your experience and education You have completed your CPA designation or are in the process of completion. You have 2-3 years of audit experience in the public accounting industry. You enjoy working with high growth and dynamic private enterprises and have experience in relation to ASPE files You are keen to develop further knowledge about the business, assurance and regulatory requirements of private businesses. You value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work. You display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills. Salary Range: $62,000 - $96,000 annually Why BDO?
