About The Role
The Time System Assistant will manage timekeeping through Synerion Access, our Synerion Share Point Site and Outlook Mailbox. This will include creating basic support cases, review interfaces end execute basic test scripts during database upgrades.
This is a new position with the company.

What You Will Be Doing

Payroll Processing:
-
Process weekly or biweekly payroll for all MLF employees, process all month-end tasks for all payroll cycles.

Review weekly, monthly, and yearly Payroll spreadsheets for MLF Mississauga and Brampton employees.

Perform accurate & timely, Time & Attendance review and edits for all MLF employees.
-
Prepare and reconcile year-end processes (T4, T2200) and year-end workers compensation reporting for various provinces.

Process annual and off-cycle vacation payments.

Process validate GL for all payrolls.

Training and Customer Service
- Assist supervisors and managers on Time & Attendance inquiries.
- Respond to employees regarding payroll-related questions.

Data Validation
- Validate all payroll calculations
- Collaborate with the HR department and other departments to ensure pay and personnel records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Analyze Records of Employment (ROEs) produced by Payroll Team.
- Review historical corrections entered in the Time and Attendance system.
- Review more advanced level employee timecard data

Other duties
- Cross train on other tasks in the department assigned to ensure coverage for vacations and other absences.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant industry regulations, tax and deduction laws.
- Contact ADP Workforce Now for day-to-day payroll issues, as needed.
- Provide backup for Payroll Supervisor for payroll processing cycle as needed.
- Adhere to NPI (National Payroll Institute -Canada) professional Code of Conduct.
- Perform other related duties or projects assigned.
What You Will Bring
- Post Post-Secondary Degree in related field, University Degree preferred.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation mandatory.
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience processing payroll.
- Familiarity with Ontario Employment Standards compliance (ESA)
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now considered a strong asset
- Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
- Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize and work effectively autonomously with little or no supervision; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential.
- Computer literacy (MS Office).
