Senior Bilingual Commercial Account Manager (Insurance) Leadership Track | Future Practice Leader Opportunity

What is in it for you:

Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
• Provide a consultative client experience to help clients make informed decisions regarding their insurance and risk management needs. • Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding client objectives, challenges, and insurance requirements. • Act as a trusted advisor by providing strategic insurance guidance and proactive service. • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships through cross-selling and referrals to internal teams, including Personal Insurance, Commercial Enterprise, and Life & Benefits. • Assess client needs and recommend appropriate insurance solutions and coverage enhancements. • Support client retention initiatives through ongoing engagement and relationship development.
Account & Portfolio Management
• Manage a high volume of renewals by coordinating with internal teams, insurance companies, account executives, assistant account managers, and marketing teams. • Collaborate with an Assistant Account Manager on policy administration activities, including applications, renewals, endorsement changes, cancellations, re-marketing initiatives, and claims application support. • Maintain accurate client records and interactions within the Broker Management System and other company portals. • Support clients through multiple communication channels in a fast-paced environment. • Support financial operations by assisting with invoicing, payment collection, and account reconciliation activities.
Strategic Account Development
• Participate in strategic planning initiatives focused on client retention and portfolio growth. • Contribute insights regarding industry trends, emerging risks, client challenges, and market opportunities. • Support initiatives designed to enhance the client experience and strengthen long-term client engagement. • Collaborate with leadership on opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and service delivery. • Assist in the development of strategies to support continued growth within the practice. • Contribute to initiatives that increase visibility and value within specialized industry segments. Insurer & Market Relationships
• Act as a liaison between clients and insurance companies regarding underwriting concerns. • Provide underwriting guidance and facilitate communication between stakeholders. • Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurer partners. • Support insurer negotiations relating to coverage options, terms, and solutions for clients. • Stay informed regarding industry trends, emerging risks, regulatory developments, and market conditions to better advise clients and prospects.
Leadership & Practice Development
• Partner with senior leadership on initiatives supporting the growth and development of the Commercial Insurance practice. • Mentor and support Assistant Account Managers and junior team members. • Share expertise and best practices within the team environment. • Participate in leadership development opportunities designed to support future career growth. • Collaborate on initiatives aimed at strengthening client engagement, business development, and practice performance. • Support a collaborative, client-focused, and results-oriented culture.
What you will need to succeed:
Required qualifications
• RIBO License required / AMF License or willing to obtain the license • Bilingual in English and French with the ability to support clients, stakeholders, and business activities in both languages, including quarterly travel to Québec. • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Account Management, Sales, Underwriting, or related roles within an insurance brokerage or insurance company. • Experience managing commercial insurance accounts and building strong client relationships. • Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines successfully. • Strong communication and relationship-building skills. • Client-centric mindset with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
Preferred qualifications
• Exposure to Commercial Insurance, Professional Liability Insurance, Commercial General Liability Insurance, specialty programs, or Group Insurance is considered a strong asset. • Experience working closely with underwriting teams and insurer partners. • Previous mentoring, coaching, team lead, or leadership experience is considered an asset. • Demonstrated interest in leadership development and long-term career progression. • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify growth opportunities within client portfolios. • Ability to influence stakeholders and build relationships with senior decision-makers.
