Insight Global is looking for a Senior Tax Specialist / Tax Manager for a 6-month contract with a leading financial institution in Toronto. This individual will join the Tax Services team and play a key role in preparing and reviewing complex personal, estate, and trust tax returns while providing technical tax expertise and mentorship to junior team members.

Responsibilities Prepare and review complex tax returns, including: T1 Personal Returns T1 Terminal (Final) Returns T3 Trust and Estate Returns Graduated Rate Estates (GREs) Rights or Things Returns Identify tax planning opportunities and ensure compliance obligations are met. Review assessments, prepare adjustments, objections, and clearance certificate requests. Conduct tax research and provide technical guidance on estate and trust taxation matters. Liaise with internal stakeholders, tax professionals, and trust services teams to ensure timely completion of filings. Mentor, review, and support junior team members. Assist with workflow management, process improvement initiatives, and special projects.

Must-Have Qualifications 3+ years of experience in accounting, tax, estate, or trust taxation. Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Hands-on experience preparing: T1 Personal Tax Returns T1 Terminal (Final) Returns T3 Trust and Estate Returns Strong understanding of Graduated Rate Estates (GREs). Experience using Taxprep software. Strong tax research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Leadership or mentorship experience supporting junior staff. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications CPA designation or currently pursuing CPA. STEP, CSI, or advanced tax coursework. Experience with Rights or Things returns, Clearance Certificates, and post-mortem tax planning strategies.
