About the role

We are seeking to add talent to our growing investments team in Toronto. The role of Private Equity Associate is to support the investment process. As an Associate, you will be part of a team of seasoned investment professionals that sources and diligences investment opportunities and executes the investment plan.

Responsibilities

Perform research, evaluation and analysis of industry sectors, public securities, and private companies. Conduct valuation analysis for new and existing investment opportunities to assist with the investment decision-making process. Prepare financial models, industry overviews, expected return scenarios, and present findings to senior personnel. Perform due diligence tasks, including assessing industry structure, company past performance, quality of the management team, and evaluation of the expected investment merits and risks. Participate in the ongoing monitoring of both the financial and operational aspects of portfolio investments; including preparation of monthly financial performance and trading valuation analysis for public sector comparable companies. Apply best practices to improve information gathering and knowledge management, including CRM. Prepare and undertake additional projects as required or assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, bonus if experiences in investment banking at a top tier platform. Undergraduate degree required with strong academic standing. Additional qualifications are an asset, including CFA (or enrollment in program) and/or CA Strong understanding of applied investment and valuation analysis Investment mindset, self-starter, team-oriented, detail-oriented, and proven ability to perform in high-expectation environment Ability to make sense of incomplete, ambiguous, or confliction information to develop a point of view on required analyses Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills

  5. Deal Size We look to make investments of $20 to $100 million in companies with EBITDA greater than $5 million.
