About the Opportunity We are currently looking for an experienced Murex Developer to support one of our leading banking clients in Toronto. In this role, you will contribute to the development, customization, enhancement, and ongoing support of the Murex platform, supporting Front Office, Middle Office, Risk, and Back Office business functions.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with the Murex MX.3 platform, a solid understanding of capital markets, and previous experience working within a banking or financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, configure, and maintain solutions within the Murex MX.3 platform. Deliver new functionalities, enhancements, and production support across multiple business domains. Build and maintain interfaces, workflows, Datamart reporting solutions, and batch processes. Support trade lifecycle processes including market data integration, pricing, risk calculations, settlements, and post-trade operations. Work closely with traders, business analysts, operations, risk management teams, and technology stakeholders to deliver business solutions. Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term resolutions. Participate in platform upgrades, release activities, testing, and continuous system improvements. Produce and maintain technical documentation while ensuring compliance with internal governance and banking standards. Contribute to Agile delivery teams and participate in sprint planning, development, and deployment activities.
Required Qualifications Must-Have Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a Murex Developer. Previous experience within a banking or capital markets environment. Strong expertise with the Murex MX.3 platform. Practical experience working with: MxML Exchange Datamart Workflows Interfaces and reporting Strong SQL development and database querying skills. Experience working in Unix/Linux environments, including shell scripting. Good understanding of trade lifecycle management and capital markets operations. Experience supporting one or more of the following asset classes: Fixed Income Foreign Exchange (FX) Equities Derivatives
Nice-to-Have Experience participating in Murex upgrades, implementations, or migration projects. Knowledge of market risk, regulatory reporting, or financial risk initiatives. Programming experience with Java and/or Python. Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines. Experience working within large-scale enterprise banking organizations.
