The successful candidate will report to the Partners and will be a career-focused individual that is excited to join a growth-oriented, entrepreneurial firm. This individual will be an integral part of our continued growth. The Role Develop an in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals of accounting and assurance services, particularly Compilations and Review Engagements; Understand and adhere to the firms quality control manual. Adhere to relevant professional standards and apply growing knowledge of GAAP and ASPE to engagements. Strong knowledge of Canadian taxation for corporations and individuals. Deliver complete product to the Senior Manager or Partner on a timely basis. Respond to client questions and queries. Delegate tasks to all levels of staff. Providing guidance and training for staff members to enhance their career development within the firm. Responsible for managing client relationships, winning new work and managing quality of work completed. Responsible for managing client portfolios. Mentor and coach senior and staff accountants. Undertaking tax research with guidance from senior specialists. Identify and document tax filing positions, including risk analysis. Prepare internal and external client correspondence. Maintain compliance with the professional development requirements of applicable professional designation(s). What You Will Bring Professional designation CPA (or legacy CA, CMA, CGA). 3+ years post designation public practice experience. Prior experience in the industries our firm currently supports considered an asset. Demonstrated leadership and mentorship abilities. Excellent working knowledge of accounting standards. Excellent analytical & problem solving skills. An innovative thinker, comfortable in a team and client-focused environment. Strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail. Community focused. A team player who encourages the success of all. Self-starter, able to work independently. Strong interpersonal, technical and communication skills. Knowledge of CaseWare, CaseView, TaxPrep and Microsoft Office considered an asset.
