Associate Director, Market Data Analyst - COO Group
About the role
Job Description What is the opportunity? The Market Data Analyst is responsible for managing the business lifecycle of market data, including vendor management, data governance, licensing, quality, inventory, usage analytics, and cost optimization. The role partners with business stakeholders to ensure market data is accurate, governed, compliant, and aligned with enterprise strategy. What will you do? Manage the end-to-end market data lifecycle across all Capital Markets businesses. Analyze business requirements for new market data products and vendor services. Partner with Trading, Risk, Finance, Procurement, Compliance, and Technology teams to understand market data needs. Maintain enterprise inventory of market data vendors, datasets, licenses, and subscriptions. Perform market data usage analysis and identify opportunities for vendor consolidation and cost optimization. Define business metadata, data definitions, ownership, stewardship, and governance standards. Monitor data quality, completeness, timeliness, and accuracy across market data assets. Coordinate onboarding of new market data vendors and datasets. Support vendor contract renewals, licensing compliance, and entitlement reviews. Produce executive dashboards for market data spend, vendor performance, usage trends, and data quality KPIs. Partner with Data Governance teams to maintain business glossary, metadata, lineage, and catalog information. Support regulatory reporting and audit requests related to market data. Drive AI readiness through standardization, classification, and documentation of market data assets. Document business processes, operating models, and governance procedures. Recommend strategic improvements to enhance market data quality, accessibility, and operational efficiency. What do you need to succeed? Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline. 5–10 years of experience in Market Data, Reference Data, Business Analysis, or Capital Markets Data Management. Strong understanding of Bloomberg, LSEG/Refinitiv, ICE, FactSet, S&P Global, and exchange data. Experience with market data licensing, vendor management, and entitlement models. Strong SQL and Excel skills; familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks. Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Must-Haves Deep understanding of Capital Markets market data, vendor ecosystems, and licensing models.
