POSITION SUMMARY

The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of the Internal Accounting Team and work closely with the Director, Financial Reporting to ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting in accordance with company policies and procedures. This role will also support the Financial Reporting leadership team in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of standardized accounting policies and processes across the organization.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Monitor and support the daily operations of the Internal Accounting Reporting and Transactions Teams, providing regular updates to the Director, Financial Reporting
  • Coordinate the month-end close process across all business units, ensuring timely and accurate submissions from cross-functional finance teams
  • Manage general ledger activities and accounting functions for multiple business units, including consolidations and ERP submissions
  • Review internal financial statements and support financial analysis, reporting, and note disclosure requirements in collaboration with FP&A and External Reporting teams
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, including foreign currency valuation, translation, and remeasurement requirements
  • Maintain strong financial controls in accordance with ICFR standards and support internal and external audit processes
  • Identify and resolve unusual or complex accounting transactions in partnership with the Group Accounting team
  • Lead process improvement initiatives focused on automation, efficiency, and reporting accuracy
  • Supervise, mentor, and support the development of team members while contributing to broader Group Accounting initiatives as required

Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • CPA Designation with at least 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP; Oracle EBS/EPM experience is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized, analytical, and proactive with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
