To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What you will be doing Reporting to the Senior Director, Credit Process Oversight and Effectiveness, the Senior Manager, Credit Process Oversight and Effectiveness is a 2nd Line of Defense function responsible for overseeing internal and third party examinations management, establishing an effective control environment and manage credit process maintenance that ensures compliance to policy and credit risk requirements for RESL and other retail products. This includes managing responses to governance inquiries and requirements, and providing effective challenge to 1st Line of Defense processes and activities. The Senior Manager is responsible for ensuring there is adequate monitoring, oversight, reporting and effective challenge of business risks and regulatory requirements. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview. How you'll succeed Lead and develop - Provide leadership, coaching, and day-to-day guidance to a team of two, supporting development, accountability, and strong team performance. Oversee enterprise initiatives - Manage and provide oversight for key enterprise programs, including Records Management, Business Managed Technology, and Business Continuity Management on behalf of the team. Manage audits and examinations - Lead internal and third-party examinations and audit engagements, including reviewing and challenging requests for information, developing action plans, monitoring deficiencies, and reporting progress to senior management. Strengthen risk oversight - Apply strong knowledge of risk management principles, credit practices, and regulatory expectations to assess, measure, and monitor risk within CIBC guidelines, with a focus on residential mortgages and secured and unsecured lending products. Communicate with impact - Prepare clear written materials and effective presentations that translate analysis, recommendations, and business impacts for a range of audiences, including senior leaders. Who you are You bring strong risk and credit knowledge. You understand credit principles, risk management practices, and regulatory requirements related to residential mortgages, secured lending, and unsecured lending products. You have the technical skills to support the role. You're confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, including advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables. You are a caring and accountable leader. You’re passionate about developing and growing team members abilities. You have experience providing coaching and hands on support to meet team goals.
