About the role

This is a 18 months Contract Position.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Account Manager will be responsible, along with a Benefits Consultant and/or a Benefits Analyst, for an assigned block of clients. The Account Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, answering client inquiries and providing information regarding products, services and policies. Provide account support/services, such as creating/handling/negotiating renewal documentation, marketings, benchmarkings, claims experience reports, new group implementations, assisting with employee education material and attending sessions. The Account Manager will also be required to resolve customer complaints via phone or email and process any requests for service.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist plan members/plan administrators by answering product and service questions concerning their group benefits plan Provide administrative support to the firm’s Group Benefits Consultants Maintain customer records by updating account information on CRM system (Epic) Resolve customer complaints quickly and tactfully. Escalate complaints as required by company policy if a resolution cannot be made personally. Prepare renewals and claims experience reports by collecting and analyzing customer information. Provide information to customers and the public concerning goods, services, schedules, rates, regulations and policies in response to telephone and in-person inquiries. Educate plan members/administrators on all aspects of their benefit plan, if required. Manage relationships with assigned block of clients to ensure a high persistency rate. Prepare and complete marketing and benchmarking analyses of benefits for clients. Assist consultants with implementations of new groups Maintain thorough knowledge of product/services offered by various group insurance carriers. Participate in regular training and programs to increase knowledge in the group insurance industry.

REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Education: Completion of Secondary School. Completion of some college or other post-secondary programs preferred. A GBA/CEBS designation, or willingness to pursue such designation, is preferred. Minimum Experience: At least 3-5 years’ experience in the group insurance field Excellent customer service. Thorough knowledge of group insurance products and/or services. Excellent listening and communication skills. Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication. Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel Strong time management skills Maintain a high level of knowledge in the Group Insurance Industry (staying abreast of changes in legislation, product offerings, plan rules, etc.).
