Position Overview UP Vertical Farms is a pioneering leader in sustainable vertical farming and agri-technology, committed to producing high-quality leafy greens through advanced controlled environment agriculture (CEA) systems. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Grow Supervisor to join our Grow team. This role is responsible for overseeing daily cultivation and grow operations throughout the full crop lifecycle, while supporting production efficiency, crop quality, food safety, and sustainability initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in horticulture, greenhouse operations, or vertical farming environments, along with strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. The Grow Supervisor works closely with the Grow Manager, Operations, R&D, and Quality teams to ensure optimal plant health, operational performance, and compliance with food safety and Occupational Health & Safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities The Financial Controller will oversee financial operations and reporting functions by: Overseeing full-cycle accounting: AP/AR, payroll, general ledger, month-end/year-end close, and multi-entity bookkeeping. Preparing financial statements, trial balances, budgets, forecasts, KPIs, and management reports. Maintaining accurate balance sheet, inventory, and fixed asset accounts. Building dashboards for production, sales, and retail/wholesale performance. Ensuring timely tax filings and regulatory compliance (GST/HST, payroll, corporate tax). Managing vendor invoices, reconciliations, and collections. Monitoring staff and contractor expenses, fuel cards, per diems, and benefit invoices. Implementing and maintaining payment and receivable tracking systems. Processing and reconciling payroll, deductions, benefits, severance, and final pay. Preparing year-end reporting (T4/T4A/RL-1/W-2/W-3) and ROEs. Ensuring compliance with CRA, IRS, BC Employment Standards Act, and privacy requirements. Preparing and filing GST/PST, corporate taxes, and other provincial/federal filings. Supporting grant, subsidy, and SR&ED reporting. Assisting with internal/external audits and maintaining organized, audit-ready records. Strengthening internal controls and ensuring compliance with company policies. Monitoring production costs, inventory valuation, capital expenditures, and variances. Providing financial analysis for pricing, budgeting, and operational decisions. Negotiating supplier/service contracts and supporting cost efficiency initiatives. Maintaining ERP/accounting software accuracy and confidentiality. Identifying and implementing process improvements and workflow efficiencies. Managing expense tracking, reimbursements, and interdepartmental reporting. Supporting cross-functional projects, mentoring of accounting team, and day-to-day financial operations. Performing other related duties as required.
Qualifications CPA, CMA, or CGA designation from BC. Bachelor’s in accounting or related field. 10+ years of experience in accounting, payroll, and benefits. Knowledge of ASPE, Income Tax Act, Excise Tax Act, BC Employment Standards Act, PIPA. Experience with ADP Workforce Now, ICICLE, QuickBooks Online, or similar ERP systems, advanced Excel skills. Legal eligibility to work in Canada. Valid Class 5 driver's license. Experience with grants, SR&ED, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Skills and Abilities Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication and confidentiality in handling financial information. Knowledge of manufacturing accounting and inventory management preferred.

Compensation and Benefits: Salary range: $120,000–$130,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Benefits package includes extended health care, dental care, vision care, life insurance. On-site parking.
Work Schedule: Full-time: Monday–Fridays Mornings, days, evenings shifts or weekend shifts based on operational requirements. Shift times may vary depending on business requirements.
