Role Description This full-time Accountant role is an on-site position located in Laval, QC. The Accountant will be responsible for recording and reconciling financial transactions, preparing journal entries, and maintaining accurate general ledger accounts. Daily tasks include processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, managing invoicing and billing, monitoring expenses, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities. The role also involves preparing financial reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations, and collaborating with operations and management to provide financial insights that support business decisions. The Accountant will work closely with internal teams to help optimize financial processes within a fast-paced transportation and logistics environment. Qualifications Candidates should possess core accounting skills such as general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable processing, bank reconciliation, and financial reporting. 3 years minimum experience Candidates should possess skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business planning and performance monitoring. Candidates should possess proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as strong MS Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, data analysis), Quickbooks (a must) Candidates should possess knowledge of Canadian accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to transportation and logistics. Candidates should possess strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume transaction environments. Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with operations, management, and external partners. Relevant education such as a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional designation (CPA or in progress) is an asset. Experience in transportation, logistics, or a similar industry, as well as proficiency in French and English, is considered an advantage.
