Job Title: UAT Lead Location: Toronto, ON(hybrid) Duration: 6-12 months contract Rate: CAD50-CAD55/hr

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced UAT Lead to oversee and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities for complex banking and financial services initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading end-to-end UAT planning, execution, defect management, stakeholder coordination, and test governance across multiple projects. This role requires strong expertise in banking operations, cards, payments, regulatory initiatives, and system implementations, along with proven leadership and communication skills to drive successful business validation and project delivery.

What You Need to Do

Lead and manage end-to-end User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities across banking technology and business transformation projects. Develop UAT strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and execution schedules aligned with project objectives. Coordinate with business stakeholders, project managers, business analysts, developers, and QA teams to ensure successful test execution. Facilitate requirements reviews and ensure business requirements are accurately reflected in test scenarios and acceptance criteria. Manage UAT execution, defect identification, triage, tracking, retesting, and closure activities. Monitor testing progress, risks, issues, and dependencies while providing regular status updates to project stakeholders. Lead defect management meetings and ensure timely resolution of testing issues. Support testing for banking products, including cards, payments, deposits, lending, digital banking, and regulatory compliance initiatives. Coordinate test environment readiness, test data preparation, and business user engagement throughout the testing lifecycle. Ensure all testing deliverables meet quality standards and support go-live readiness assessments. Participate in production validation, post-implementation testing, and hypercare support activities. Drive continuous improvement of testing methodologies, tools, governance processes, and testing best practices.

What You'll Need to Succeed

12+ years of experience in Software Testing, Quality Assurance, and User Acceptance Testing within the Banking or Financial Services industry. Strong hands-on experience leading UAT activities for large-scale banking transformation, regulatory, cards, or payments projects. Proven experience managing test planning, test execution, defect management, and stakeholder communications. Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and Agile delivery methodologies. Experience working with business stakeholders to define requirements, acceptance criteria, and testing strategies. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills. Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, ALM, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms. Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management capabilities. Experience supporting regulatory, compliance, cards, payments, or core banking initiatives is highly preferred. Exposure to test automation frameworks and automation testing practices is considered an asset. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Finance, or a related field.
