The Americas Credit Specialist team is a group of credit risk professionals supporting a sophisticated sales organization across a broad range of analytical solutions, data assets, and workflow tools. Success in this role requires strong product knowledge, intellectual curiosity, commercial awareness, and the ability to work effectively with Sales, Relationship Management, Product, and Client Success teams. The ideal candidate will be comfortable engaging with clients, understanding their business challenges, and helping position S&P Global Market Intelligence’s Credit and Risk Solutions in a clear and practical way. This role will focus primarily on supporting clients and prospects across North America, including financial institutions, corporations, insurance companies, asset managers, government entities, and other market participants. English fluency is required; French language skills are preferred, particularly to support Canadian clients and bilingual market opportunities. The successful candidate will contribute to commercial opportunities, support client adoption, and help identify ways our solutions can address credit risk, regulatory, analytical, and workflow needs. Responsibilities and Impact: Impact: S&P Global Market Intelligence’s Credit Specialist organization plays an important role in supporting the firm’s strategy of delivering integrated data, research, analytics, and workflow solutions to financial institutions, corporations, governments, and investment professionals globally. The Credit & Risk Solutions Product Specialist will partner closely with Sales, Relationship Management, Product Management, and Client Success teams to support growth, retention, product adoption, and market development across the Credit Risk Solutions portfolio. This includes solutions such as RatingsDirect, Credit Companion, Credit Memo Builder, Credit Analytics, RiskGauge, Credit Assessment Scorecards, and related datasets and workflows. The individual will develop strong expertise across the Credit and Risk Solutions offering and support client-facing engagements by explaining product capabilities, helping identify client needs, preparing demonstrations, and contributing to solution design. The role requires a solid understanding of credit risk concepts and an ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Responsibilities: Commercial Support and Revenue Growth Partner with Sales and Relationship Management teams to support new business, renewal, cross-sell, and upsell opportunities across North America. Support discovery conversations with clients and prospects to better understand business needs, credit workflows, and potential use cases. Contribute to solution-oriented sales engagements by preparing product demonstrations, client materials, and tailored value propositions. Help position Credit and Risk Solutions in a way that aligns with client objectives related to credit analysis, risk monitoring, portfolio management, regulatory requirements, and workflow efficiency. Support commercial conversations by providing product expertise, use case examples, and relevant market context. Subject Matter Expertise and Product Knowledge Develop strong knowledge of the Credit Risk Solutions portfolio and related datasets, workflows, and analytical capabilities. Deliver product demonstrations, client workshops, and internal training sessions. Explain credit risk concepts, scoring outputs, ratings-related content, financial data, and workflow tools in a clear and practical manner. Stay informed on relevant market trends across North America, including credit risk practices, private credit, financial institutions, corporate risk management, regulatory developments, and portfolio management workflows. Support client conversations by connecting product capabilities to real business challenges and market needs. Solution Design and Client Advisory Assist in identifying client pain points and mapping them to appropriate S&P Global Market Intelligence solutions. Support the design of client workflows involving credit underwriting, portfolio monitoring, financial analysis, counterparty risk, procurement risk, treasury, and enterprise risk management. Help develop business cases and value propositions that communicate the benefits of our solutions in a client-relevant way. Partner with internal teams to prepare tailored demo environments, sample workflows, and client-facing materials. Support proof-of-concept, trial, and adoption activities by helping clients understand how to use the solutions effectively. Product Feedback and Market Intelligence Gather and communicate client feedback to Product Management, Sales, and regional leadership teams. Share insights on client needs, competitive dynamics, market trends, and product enhancement opportunities across North America. Support product launches, go-to-market campaigns, and regional enablement initiatives. Help identify recurring client needs that may inform product positioning, packaging, training, or commercialization efforts. Collaboration and Internal Enablement Work closely with Sales, Relationship Management, Product, Marketing, Client Success, and other Credit Specialist colleagues across the Americas. Support internal enablement by sharing product knowledge, client use cases, and best practices with sales and commercial teams. Contribute to team meetings, pipeline discussions, campaign planning, and account strategy sessions. Collaborate with colleagues across regions to ensure consistency in messaging, demonstrations, and client engagement. Support junior colleagues and peers through knowledge sharing, coaching, and collaboration, without formal people-management responsibilities. Client Success and Adoption Partner with Sales and Client Success teams to help clients increase usage, adoption, and value realization from Credit and Risk Solutions. Support client training sessions, adoption reviews, and workflow discussions. Help identify opportunities to expand product usage within existing accounts. Assist with renewal support by demonstrating value, addressing product questions, and reinforcing relevant use cases. Promote a strong client experience by being responsive, prepared, and solution-oriented. Compensation/Benefits Information: S&P Global states that the anticipated range of compensation for this position is $72,000.00 to $120,000.00. Final compensation for this role will be based on the individual’s performance, geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. What We’re Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications: 5+ years of relevant experience in credit risk, financial markets, commercial banking, capital markets, investment management, market data, financial technology, consulting, product specialist, pre-sales, credit analysis, or solutions consulting roles. Strong understanding of credit risk, financial statement analysis, credit scoring, ratings, counterparty risk, portfolio monitoring, and/or financial data workflows. Willingness to travel as needed across the region, in accordance with company policy. Additional Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in French is preferred, particularly for supporting Canadian clients and bilingual market opportunities. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field required; MBA, Master’s in Finance, CFA, FRM, or equivalent professional certification is a plus. Strong understanding of the North America market, including client needs across financial institutions, corporations, insurance companies, asset managers, and public-sector or government-related entities. Highly collaborative team player with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities across clients, segments, and internal teams. Intellectual curiosity, accountability, creativity, and willingness to learn new products, workflows, and market trends.
