We are a purpose-driven firm committed to sustainability, responsible investing, and making a positive impact in the communities where we invest.

With over $3 billion in AUM, Forum is one of Canada's most dynamic investment platforms. Our open-ended Real Estate Income and Impact Fund (REIIF) is now over $2.4 billion, backed by a $3.5 billion development pipeline that spans coast to coast.

Forum is also building one of the fastest-growing self-storage platforms in Canada, focused on acquiring, developing, and operating institutional-grade storage facilities in undersupplied urban markets.

Position Overview: Forum Asset Management is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Senior Accountant, Corporate to join our Corporate Accounting team. This role is integral to the firm's financial operations, managing a broad portfolio of recurring deliverables across corporate entities, regulatory compliance, cash management, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter who takes ownership of deliverables, thrives in a deadline-driven environment, and brings a continuous improvement mindset to every process they touch. We are particularly interested in candidates who embrace technology — including AI-powered tools — as a means of working smarter and delivering higher-quality outputs.

The Senior Accountant, Corporate reports to the Director, Finance and works closely with the broader Corporate Accounting team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Full Cycle Accounting Own the monthly close process across multiple corporate entities, including journal entries, accruals, and variance review. Prepare and file HST returns across corporate and development entities, ensuring accuracy and meeting filing deadlines. Perform monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and entities, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner. Prepare intercompany billings and reconciliations across the firm's portfolio of entities, maintaining accurate supporting documentation. Produce monthly financial reporting packages for corporate reporting, including management accounts, variance commentary, and supporting schedules. Prepare expense reimbursement reconciliations, corporate credit card payments, and other recurring accounting deliverables.

Audit Support Prepare audit schedules and supporting workpapers for year-end and interim audits across corporate entities. Respond to auditor inquiries in a timely and organized manner, coordinating with internal stakeholders as needed. Maintain well-organized, audit-ready documentation for all recurring deliverables throughout the year

Cash Management & Treasury Review and process various corporate payments, ensuring appropriate approvals and accurate coding. Prepare a weekly cash position report and cash summary for senior leadership, providing visibility into short-term liquidity. Maintain a rolling two-year cash flow forecast, updating assumptions and projections based on current business activity. Liaise with external property managers, fund administrators, and banking counterparties to manage account activity and resolve outstanding items.

Forecasting Forecast G&A expenses on a monthly and annual basis, comparing actuals to budget and reforecast. Maintain and update the firm's budget reforecast model, including actuals entry, variance analysis, and commentary. Support ad hoc financial modelling and analysis as requested by senior leadership.

Compensation & Employee Programs Administer and maintain certain employee compensation programs, including the tracking and reconciliation of employee loans and shareholder loan schedules. Prepare related reporting, interest calculations, and supporting documentation on a monthly basis. Coordinate with People & Culture and senior leadership on updates to employee program terms and balances

Candidate Profile: CPA designation (or in progress) strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in real estate, investment management, or financial services. Demonstrated experience with Yardi or a comparable property/fund accounting platform. Hands-on experience with HST filings, bank reconciliations, and regulatory compliance submissions. Experience in a multi-entity environment with intercompany transactions. Exceptional attention to detail — you catch errors before they become problems. Strong process improvement mindset — you are always looking for a better, faster, or more reliable way to do things. Eagerness to adopt and champion AI and technology tools (e.g., Claude in Excel, Yardi automation) in your day-to-day workflow. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a high volume of recurring deliverables simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills for liaising with internal stakeholders and external counterparties. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with AI-powered productivity tools is a strong asset.
