About the role

Danstar Ferment AG is one of the largest subsidiaries within the Lallemand Group. Headquartered in Switzerland, its financial activities are managed from Montreal.

Reporting to the Assistant Controller – Danstar Ferment AG, the Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in the preparation of financial statements, the maintenance of internal controls, and the continuous improvement of financial processes.

This position offers broad exposure to business operations, real-world manufacturing challenges, and a multi-entity international environment, providing excellent opportunities for professional growth and development.

The Role Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for group reporting purposes. Prepare and analyze annual financial statements for both group and legal entity reporting. Assist in the preparation and review of documentation for external auditors. Own assigned accounting processes end-to-end, including understanding transaction flows, resolving accounting issues at their source, improving process reliability, and ensuring ongoing financial data accuracy. Perform month-end closing journal entries for various balance sheet accounts and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial data. Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned accounting areas by proactively analyzing unusual or complex transactions, resolving variances and reconciling items, identifying risks, and implementing corrective actions to ensure the integrity of financial reporting. Ensure compliance with internal control requirements and company policies, procedures, and control standards. Maintain, document, and enhance internal controls. Contribute to ad hoc analyses, cross-functional projects, and continuous improvement initiatives related to processes, automation, and data quality.

The Team The Senior Financial Analyst position is part of a finance team encompassing FP&A, Record-to-Report (R2R), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Treasury & Tax (T&T).

Candidate Profile Experience & Technical Skills Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting 5 to 10 years of experience in accounting and/or financial analysis Experience in a multi‑entity, multi‑currency environment is an asset Advanced proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables) Knowledge of Power BI, an ERP system, and/or a reporting tool is an asset

Languages

Full professional proficiency in English and French, both written and spoken. Advanced English skills are necessary to prepare and review financial statements, for analyzing and communicating financial information with English-speaking colleagues, auditors, and business partners. Both French and English will be used on a daily basis.
