ABOUT THE FIRM A well-established U.S.-headquartered alternative asset manager with multi-billion dollar AUM and offices across major financial centers. The firm deploys capital across private credit and private equity on behalf of institutional investors and has grown significantly in recent years. Fast-paced, entrepreneurially driven, and well-capitalized with an active pipeline of new fund launches.

THE OPPORTUNITY A high-visibility senior leadership hire reporting directly to the CFO. The Fund Controller will own all fund accounting operations for a dedicated private credit portfolio, leading a small team with real scope for growth. This is a chance to take full ownership of a critical function at a growing platform with strong institutional backing. Based in Montreal or Toronto.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead fund accounting operations across multiple private credit fund structures Oversee quarterly financial statements and investor reporting across master-feeders, SPVs, and GP entities Manage all core fund accounting: journal entries, management fees, valuations, accruals, and bank reconciliations Own the capital activity cycle: capital calls, distributions, rebalancing, and carried interest Coordinate year-end audits and regulatory compliance including FATCA/CRS and SLFI reporting Manage relationships with fund administrators, custodians, auditors, and legal advisors Build, mentor, and develop a growing fund accounting team Partner cross-functionally with investment, investor relations, legal, and compliance

QUALIFICATIONS 8 to 15+ years of fund accounting experience with a focus on private or alternative funds Background at an alternative asset manager; private credit or private equity preferred CPA/CA designation with IFRS specialization preferred Familiarity with multi-jurisdictional structures, FATCA/CRS, SLFI, and Level 3 valuations Proven team leadership in a fast-paced institutional environment Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Strong English communication; French proficiency an asset
