We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team!
As part of the Finance and Accounting team, the Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, this individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with the monthly close process, and supporting financial reporting across multiple business entities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities: Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules as part of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including bank accounts, prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities as required Support revenue recognition and deferred revenue accounting in accordance with company policies Prepare and analyze financial reports and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness Assist with intercompany accounting and reconciliations across multiple legal entities Support the preparation of audit working papers and respond to requests from external auditors Assist with the preparation of tax filings, government remittances, and compliance reporting as required Monitor and investigate accounting discrepancies, recommending appropriate corrective actions Participate in maintaining and improving accounting processes, internal controls, and documentation Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Operations, and other departments to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis by preparing supporting schedules and reports Utilize advanced Excel functions, ERP reporting tools, and AI-enabled productivity methods to improve efficiency, accuracy, and workflow automation Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager or Controller
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Working toward a CPA designation or active CPA designation is considered an asset Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Ability to leverage AI tools and effective prompting techniques to improve efficiency, reporting quality, and analytical output
Experience & Skills: 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity environment Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite experience is considered an asset) Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as PivotTables, XLOOKUP, and data analysis tools Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Effective written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team A continuous improvement mindset with an interest in automation and process optimization
