About the role
Role Description The Bookkeeper will manage day-to-day financial records, including maintaining ledgers, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and tracking expenses and revenues. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial reports, supporting month-end and year-end processes, and ensuring accurate and timely data entry in accounting software. The role also involves collaborating with management to support budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and compliance with relevant financial policies. This is a hybrid role based in Thunder Bay, ON, with the flexibility for some work from home. The position requires reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining organized, up-to-date financial information. Qualifications Ability to prepare and interpret Financial Statements to support informed decision-making. Strong Bookkeeping skills, including maintaining ledgers, reconciling accounts, and processing transactions. Proficiency with Accounting Software and related digital tools for data entry, reporting, and analysis. Foundational knowledge of Finance principles to support budgeting, cash flow, and financial planning. Experience recording and reviewing Journal Entries (Accounting) to ensure accuracy and compliance. Relevant education in accounting, finance, or business administration, or equivalent experience. Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail. Integrity in handling confidential financial information and adherence to ethical standards. Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with Indigenous communities or interest in contributing to community-focused economic development is an asset.
