About the role
Overview Our firm specializes in providing bookkeeping and accounting services to law firms and construction companies across the GTA. We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with strong knowledge of legal trust accounting and project-based accounting environments to support a growing client base. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients within legal and construction sectors Maintain general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations Perform trust accounting in compliance with Law Society requirements (daily transactions, reconciliations, reporting) Process payroll and related remittances (source deductions, HST, WSIB where applicable) Prepare monthly financial statements and client-ready reporting packages Handle billing cycles, including legal billing where applicable Monitor project/job costing, progress billing, and cost allocations for construction clients Assist with year-end preparation and liaise with external accountants Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting across all client accounts Qualifications 5+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within a public practice or multi-client environment Proven experience with legal accounting and trust accounting (mandatory) Strong understanding of Law Society trust compliance requirements Experience supporting construction clients (job costing, progress billing) highly preferred Proficiency with PC Law (preferred); experience with LEAP or Clio accepted Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software Strong Excel skills and attention to detail Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple client files simultaneously Preferred Attributes Experience working in a bookkeeping or accounting firm environment Strong client communication and relationship management skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision High degree of accuracy and professionalism
