Duties to Commence: June 15, 2026

**Position:**This administrative role manages the business office of a high school, ensuring efficient and cost-effective financial operations. Responsibilities include budgeting, recordkeeping, financial reporting, and related administrative tasks. The position works under the direction of the principal and in coordination with Division financial services, following Division policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Duties:

  • Committed to being a model and witness to Christ-centered education values and beliefs.

  • Apply foundational knowledge about First Nations, Métis and Inuit for the benefit of all students, and support the Division's goals towards advancing Truth and Reconciliation.

  • Post-secondary training in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field.

  • Relevant applicable experience in a school setting or with Financial components.

  • Conduct the accounting function for the school, to involve the recording of receipts and expenditures as well as the preparation of all financial statements.

  • Maintain accurate financial records and accounts in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and District policies, guidelines and procedures.

  • Assist with the planning of all school budgets including overall account budgets and sub-categories within each as well as budgets for school-generated funds.

  • Act as purchaser for the school.

  • Manage Visa card administration.

  • Act as financial advisor to administrative team, department heads/leads, teachers, support staff, school council, student council and school clubs regarding Division school accounts, revenues, or expenditures.

  • Ensure that all school staff are informed of and follow all appropriate financial policies, guidelines and procedures.

  • Cooperate with internal and external auditors and provide information to them as requested.

  • Direct and supervise the student fee program.

  • Provide coding control for all documents that pass through the business office.

  • Registration and payment/reimbursement for staff attending PD including travel arrangements if required.

  • Implement and maintain a fixed assets ledger and coordinate fixed assets identification for the school.

  • Ensure that school plant operations are performed in an efficient manner.

  • Coordinate the utilization of school vehicles and arrange for additional transportation as required for school functions.

  • Coordinate the bookings, subject to the approval of the principal or designate, of all activities involving community/joint use school facilities.

  • Develop an advertising and communications plan for all school events as required.

  • Coordinate the distribution and/or sale of appropriate student materials such as school supplies maintained for instructional purposes (personal protection equipment for science, construction, foods/home Economics as well as other subjects as required).

  • In coordination with lead teachers and administrators assist with administering fees and refunds of alternative programs as required.

  • Maintain an inventory of classroom/office supplies and order as necessary.

  • Act as key controller for the school as required.

  • Liaises with appropriate levels of professional groups as related to school Business Managers. Other duties as assigned by the school administration.
