About the role
Fantastic opportunity for an accounting professional who is seeking to join the corporate accounting team of a large complex global company with a people-focused and friendly corporate culture. Employees are treated very well at this company, and there is opportunity for long-term learning and growth, as well as mentorship from inspiring leaders. Very competitive total compensation package including close to 5 weeks of paid time off, a bonus plan, and a pension plan.
Who- the Company: Our client is a high profile and reputable global company headquartered in downtown Vancouver. The corporate office has a fast-paced environment and a corporate culture that emphasizes learning & development, collaboration, teamwork, and high performance. The people at this company are very dedicated to their work and also know how to have fun. This company truly values their employees and provides great perks that promote a healthy work life.
What- the Role: On behalf of our client, we are seeking a new Accountant to join the Accounting & Finance team at the corporate headquarters. The Accountant will work alongside other Accounting & Finance professionals at a variety of levels, many of them designated. This is a well-rounded corporate accounting role involving financial reporting, preparing balance sheets, preparing income statements, preparing financial statements, completing intercompany reconciliations, conducting variance analysis, contributing to forecasting, and generally supporting month/quarter/year-end. SWIM will provide candidates with a more detailed job description.
Who- the Candidate: We are seeking accounting professionals who enjoy engaging and challenging work in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with a close-knit team. Qualified candidates will have at least 4 years of progressive accounting work experience. CPA designation is strongly preferred, but perhaps not required for someone with highly relevant work experience. Experience working in a global company with finances in multiple currencies is a significant asset, not necessarily required… but candidates do need to have familiarity working in a complex multi-entity company with lots of moving parts. Must have hands-on experience using a sophisticated ERP (i.e. SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, etc.) and proficiency in Excel. Training in a public practice firm is very beneficial, but not required.
Where: Downtown Vancouver with some hybrid flexibility. Close to public transit and many amenities like restaurants and shops. Once they’ve completed onboarding and training, the Accountant can choose to work from home 1 day a week, possibly 2 days a week (depending on what is going on at the office)
How Much: Competitive base salary commensurate with experience and skills, in the range of $86,000 to $96,000. This company provides an excellent total compensation package including over 4 weeks of paid vacation time, financial support for CPA & professional development, a performance-based bonus, a pension plan, great health & dental benefits, and a wellness allowance. Please discuss your compensation expectations in further detail with SWIM.
When & How to Apply: SWIM will be conducting all initial interviews and presenting a shortlist of candidates directly to the hiring team.
