Financial Reporting Manager
About the role
Wallace & Wallace, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is seeking a full-time Financial Reporting Manager to join our growing team. The successful candidate will work on-site at our office located at 90 Lowson Crescent, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation, accuracy, and timely delivery of financial statements and reports. This role ensures compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/ Assa Abloy GAAP, Canadian GAAP), regulatory requirements, and internal policies, while supporting business decision-making through high-quality financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Ensure compliance with IFRS, Canadian GAAP, Assa Abloy GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements Upload Financial Data into Onestream (Corporate Financial Reporting Software) in a timely fashion ensuring month end deadlines are met Responsible for Monthly, Quarterly Forecasting as well as Annual Plan
Month-End & Year-End Close Help coordinate the month-end close process Review journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger balances
Audit & Controls Coordinate with Internal auditors and support audit processes Ensure compliance with Assa Abloy Internal controls Identify and implement process improvements
Analysis & Reporting Provide financial analysis and commentary on performance Prepare management reports Explain variances between actuals, budget, and forecast
Systems & Process Improvement Maintain and enhance financial reporting systems Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains Support ERP implementations or upgrades
Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA or equivalent professional designation required 5+ years of progressive accounting/financial reporting experience Strong knowledge of IFRS and Canadian GAAP Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g. Business Central, Dynamics GP)
