Our large private client is seeking a professional, experienced Senior Accountant (Finance Associate) to add to their multi-faceted business.
Role Description
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for high-volume transaction processing, bank reconciliation, and general ledger maintenance across multiple entities.This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role requiring strong organizational skills, proficiency with accounting systems, and process automation tools.
Responsibilities
Review, code and process 200+ invoices and payment requests per week, including vendor invoices, credit card statements, expense reports, and utility payments. Oversee utility and property-related expense accounts globally, including account access, timely payments, and account lifecycle management. Investigate payment discrepancies and resolve issues while maintaining compliance with AP policies. Post manual journal entries for depreciation, accruals, and corrections Assist with month-end and quarter-end close procedures, including reconciling sub-ledgers, supporting accrual preparation, and completing close checklists. Record intercompany transactions and post reconciling items Create and maintain spreadsheets for tracking, reporting, and ad-hoc analysis. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual data entry through automation.
Qualifications
CPA, or pursuing CPA (2-3 years out), BComm or related education required 3–5 years of hands-on accounts payable, general ledger experience Proficiency with Sage Intact ERP accounting software or similar ERP Advanced Excel is essential. Macros, Power BI, Python and AI tools are highly desirable.
