Accountant Location: Toronto, ON Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid Contract Details Position Type: Contract Contract Duration: 6 months (extension possible; FTE conversion possible) Pay Rate: C$65.00-C$70.00 / Hour (CAD) Shift / Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Monday and Tuesday are mandatory in-office days. During month-end, remote work is permitted but must be made up the following week. Job Summary The Finance and Enterprise Strategy Group provides financial services across the bank, enabling decision-making, future planning, and effective management of the bank's balance sheet and business operations. As part of this group, the Finance Controllership team produces accurate, complete, and timely accounting records to support statutory, regulatory, and management reporting. As a Senior Financial Analyst, Consolidation, you'll contribute to the bank's consolidated financial accounting close cycle and statutory reporting process. This role focuses on accounting and reporting activities for non-trading foreign currency exposures and related hedging strategies. You'll leverage your advanced technical accounting knowledge to analyze financial results, prepare consolidation accounting adjustments, resolve intercompany transaction breaks, and validate foreign exchange revaluations. You'll collaborate across teams to ensure the integrity of financial records and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department. Required Skills Strong expertise in foreign exchange accounting, intercompany accounting/eliminations, and multi-currency environments Experience with financial consolidation and reporting in complex organizational structures Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and Power Query Experience with data analysis Proficiency in data analysis and general ledger systems Strong ability to work independently, take initiative, adapt to change, and collaborate with cross-functional teams Preferred Skills Statutory reporting experience Familiarity with SAP General Ledger Education Requirements Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA designation (or actively pursuing CPA certification / verification of candidacy in CPA Ontario) Required Experience Minimum 4 years of relevant hands-on financial accounting experience, including month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations/continuity schedules, and financial analysis Demonstrated advanced knowledge of foreign exchange accounting and intercompany eliminations within a complex organizational structure operating in multiple currencies Direct responsibility for month-end close, balance sheet continuity schedules, and financial analysis Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans 401k Retirement Fund Important Notes Regulatory credential requirement: Verification of candidacy in CPA Ontario is required upon start.
