Accounting Analyst - Yardi (12 Month Contract)

A leading Canadian non-bank mortgage lender managing a $3B commercial real estate portfolio is seeking a Yardi Business and Application Support Analyst for an approximately 12-month contract. Operating as a critical link between IT, Finance, and operational stakeholders, this role is responsible for maintaining system stability, driving process efficiencies, and enforcing strict accounting controls across the enterprise platform. In this role, you will act as the primary point of contact for configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing key Yardi modules, including Voyager 7 (Elevate), Investment Accounting, PayScan, and Construction Manager. Core responsibilities include developing custom SQL queries and extracts, managing user access via YardiOne, coordinating system upgrades and testing, and conducting data quality reviews to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities As the primary functional point of contact for the Yardi platform, this role oversees day-to-day system administration, user support, and module optimization. Configuring and maintaining key Yardi modules—such as Voyager 7s/8 (Elevate), PayScan, Investment Accounting, AP/AR, GL, Procure to Pay, BillPay, and Construction Manager—while maintaining a structured support queue to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly. Managing user permissions, YardiOne dashboard setups, and regular access reviews to support audit requirements and internal controls. Working closely with Finance and operational teams, the position ensures all accounting workflows align with internal controls, regulatory policies, and financial reporting standards. Leveraging SQL to build custom queries, reports, and data extracts for stakeholders, alongside performing rigorous data quality reviews and data cleansing to establish governance standards and protect overall system integrity. Beyond routine maintenance, the analyst leads system upgrades, release cycles, and regression testing to preserve platform continuity, while serving as the primary liaison with Yardi vendors for integrations and escalations. This role also drives continuous process improvements by managing change requests, documenting system configurations and process maps, and delivering both scheduled and on-demand user training to reinforce proper accounting usage across the enterprise.
Qualifications Candidates must possess a strong foundation in accounting and finance, backed by post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline, along with at least five years of experience in accounting systems support, financial systems analysis, or business analysis. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in financial controls, regulatory reporting standards, and core accounting workflows (AP, AR, GL, and Investment Accounting), alongside hands-on technical proficiency with Yardi Voyager or comparable enterprise accounting platforms. Demonstrated strength in financial data analysis—specifically complex account reconciliations, dataset transformations, and data cleansing—is essential, as is experience developing financial reports, extracts, and queries (SQL preferred) for Finance, Audit, and executive stakeholders. Additionally, candidates must exhibit a rigorous focus on financial data integrity and audit readiness, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the communication ability to translate complex technical system configurations into clear, accounting-focused business terms.
