Student Accounts is responsible for overseeing incoming tuition fee payments (receivables) as well as outgoing student refunds (payables) for both undergraduate and graduate students at SFU. We ensure the financial data integrity of the Student Information System (SIS).
About the Role
The Student Accounts Clerk assists the supervisor with the implementation of effective collection strategies to achieve maximal recoveries of doubtful accounts and minimal expenses in collections. The position organizes and prioritizes term-end internal collections of outstanding Undergraduate and Graduate accounts; responds to inquiries from students, parents and collection agencies on outstanding accounts; and interviews students to provide recommendations and make arrangements for payment plan applications for approval. Makes recommendations to the supervisor on challenging cases for further collection actions; researches on eco-political world-wide and domestic legislation changes in order to provide proactive alerts to management; and maintains the collection database of $6 million with monthly key performance indicators for management strategic planning.
