What can I expect day to day?

As Senior Credit Controller – Americas, you will play a critical role in safeguarding cash flow and credit risk across the Canada, USA and Brazil businesses. You will manage a complex, high value ledger, lead collection activity on overdue and escalated accounts, and act as a trusted partner to Sales, Finance and regional stakeholders. This role requires a bilingual French and English speaker with strong commercial judgement, excellent stakeholder management skills, and experience operating in a multi country, high volume environment.

Credit Control & Collections Own and manage a portfolio of high value and complex client accounts across Canada, USA and Brazil Drive timely collections in line with agreed payment terms and regional credit policies Proactively identify overdue, high risk and problem accounts, escalating where appropriate Lead negotiations with clients to resolve payment issues and establish recovery plans where required Reduce aged debt and support DSO improvement across the region Stakeholder & Client Management Act as a senior point of contact for escalated credit and payment matters Partner closely with Sales, Operations and Finance to resolve disputes efficiently Build strong, professional relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients Support business growth while ensuring appropriate credit risk controls are applied Risk, Controls & Reporting Assess and monitor credit risk, recommending credit limits and terms Ensure compliance with Hays credit policies, internal controls and audit requirements Prepare and present regular debt, risk and performance reporting Support month end close activities related to receivables and provisions Process Improvement & Leadership Identify opportunities to improve credit control processes, automation and efficiency Support regional and global Order to Cash initiatives and system enhancements Share best practice across the Americas and mentor junior credit controllers where required

Who are we looking for?

MUST HAVE: Proven experience in a senior credit control role, ideally within a multinational or shared services environment Strong understanding of how to interpret credit risk data from providers such as D&B and Equifax, Experience creating statistical reports, and confidence in making client calls. Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, collections and credit risk management Experience managing complex, high value customer portfolios Fluent English and French (spoken and written) Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail

NICE TO HAVE: Experience supporting North and South American markets Knowledge of local payment practices and commercial environments in Canada, USA or Brazil Experience working with GreatPlains and Navision Prior exposure to recruitment, professional services or high volume transactional businessesbout who you are, but who you want to become.
