About the role

At Conexus, we are focused on supporting our members with their needs of today, while also helping them pursue their goals for the future. It’s more than conducting a banking transaction, it’s about providing insightful content, tools, expert advice, and a full suite of products to inspire confidence in their financial decision-making. We prioritize performance excellence, and our employees champion each member’s success, ultimately contributing to a thriving province.

We are curious, courageous, confident and committed. Our values ensure we consistently deliver outstanding member experiences. As employees, we are more than just individuals who come to work each day, each role is a vital part of Conexus.

As of January 1, 2026, Conexus, Cornerstone, and Synergy credit unions have merged into one provincial credit union serving over 200,000 members in 57 branches across 50 Saskatchewan communities.

We acknowledge that our Conexus offices and facilities are located on Treaty 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 lands. These are the traditional lands of the Cree, Dakota, Dene, Lakota, Nakota and Saulteaux peoples, as well as the homeland of the Métis.

The bigger picture

We’re looking for an analytical, impact-driven problem solver to come on board as our Data Scientist at our College Avenue location in Regina, Saskatchewan. In this role, you are accountable for designing, building, and sustaining predictive and prescriptive analytics and end-to-end AI and machine learning solutions that enable better, faster, and more informed business decisions. You’ll work closely with business teams and Data & Analytics peers to translate complex problems into scalable analytical solutions, delivering trusted, production-ready models that are embedded in real business processes and decision-making.

While Regina is the preferred location, we are open to considering various Conexus locations across Saskatchewan.

How you’ll be spending your time

  •  Designing and developing predictive and prescriptive analytics to support decision-making across marketing, finance, risk, operations, and member experience
  • Applying advanced statistical, machine learning, optimization, and experimental design techniques to predict outcomes, evaluate opportunities, and generate actionable business insights.
  • Owning the end-to-end lifecycle of AI and machine learning solutions, from problem farming through deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement
  • Experimenting and developing Generative AI solutions using modern techniques such as embeddings, Large Language Models (LLMs) orchestration, and model evaluation and finetuning frameworks.
  • Developing scalable, production-ready AI and machine learning solutions that are embedded into operational workflows and decision processes
  • Designing and analyzing experiments to measure impact and effectiveness of business initiatives
  • Defining and maintaining trusted analytical and AI-ready data foundations by promoting strong data quality, consistency, governance, fairness, and responsible AI practices.
  • Monitoring and tuning models and analytical solutions to ensure sustained performance, reliability, and business value
  • Collaborating across Data & Analytics and business teams to align solutions, share knowledge, and continuously improve ways of working

The way people describe you

You are known as a curious and analytical thinker who can break down complex problems and turn them into clear, actionable insights. Colleagues see you as a strong communicator who can explain advanced analytical concepts in a way that drives understanding and confident decision-making. You bring a high level of ownership and rigor to your work, ensuring solutions are accurate, interpretable, and grounded in business context. Above all, you are thoughtful and responsible in how you apply data and AI, always considering risk, ethics, and impact.

The experience you bring

  • Post secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
  • 4–7+ years of experience delivering data science, advanced analytics, machine learning, prompt engineering, and generative AI solutions with demonstrated business impact
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or at least one scripting or programming language
  • Deep knowledge of statistical modeling, experimentation, machine learning, and applied prompt engineering techniques
