About the role

Not the Flashiest Title in the Building. Possibly the Most Important. Data Analyst · Encore Travel · Hybrid, Montréal

No mission statement ever says "accurate data," yet every great decision depends on it. What Encore is turning into Encore is becoming the intelligence company that scales care. We want technology to make the relationships we build and maintain stronger, not thinner. That takes data. A lot of it. Our team's job is to make that data ready, reliable, and available, and to connect the machine model of our company. This is bigger than reporting. The same reliable data is what lets an account manager, or an AI system working alongside them, actually know a customer well enough to help them like a person, not a record in a system. That's how you scale care instead of just scaling volume. What you'll actually be doing You're energized when you get to hand someone the answer to a problem they've been stuck on. You know how to take something theoretical, break down the terms, ask the right questions, and come up with answers. Your mandate is to become the go-to expert who knows exactly which combination of queries, charts, and KPIs turns into an actual, meaningful conversation. Being the goalie for the business's insights. You won't produce every report yourself, but you're accountable for the ones that matter. Our colleagues rely on you for timely, accurate reporting on our customers, our tools, operations, and finances, and for making sense of the data when it isn't obvious. Safeguarding trust in our systems is the gold standard, and that starts with the relationships we build across the business, relationships that increasingly include AI. Your validation tooling, semantic definitions, canonical queries, and reporting artifacts serve both.

Requirements

Your actual superpower Your superpower is mixing customer service communication with detail-oriented output. You can sit with someone who's stuck, listen well, and know exactly what needs pulling and why. Then you build it, carefully, and it holds up. The team you're joining You'll report to our Director, Intelligence and Standards, and work alongside our Intelligence Designer. This is you if You're early in your career. Recent grad, or somewhere in your first 3 years. You're drawn to what data means for the business and the customer journey, more than the engineering underneath it. You'd pitch yourself for finance or product before engineering. You have core competencies in SQL and Python. You care as much about explaining something clearly as about getting it right. What you'll walk away knowing Our business. Our customers. Our models. Every signal our teams use to make the calls that matter. First, you'll accelerate what our experts already know, making their intuitions tangible, visual, and ready for internal and external review. Then you'll get people who never thought to ask a question to start asking it. Together, the goal is data that's available, clear, trustworthy, and understandable, so that no decision gets made without it again. How to apply Skip the cover letter. Show us a time you took a pile of confusing data and made it click for someone, a dashboard, a report, a spreadsheet you're weirdly proud of, an analysis that changed someone's mind. Tell us what it was and what you'd do differently now.

Send it to elizabeth.oxton@encoretravel.com. We reply to everyone, within a week.
