ARCX is a growing OEM and a private label manufacturer of electronic products located in Markham, Ontario. THE OPPORTUNITY: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to support our finance team with day-to-day accounting tasks. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with numbers, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with financial reporting and administrative duties. This position will report to the Controller.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process full-cycle accounts payable, including matching goods receipts with purchase orders and invoices; verifying, coding, and entering vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Prepare and process vendor payments, including cheques, EFTs, and payment batches
  • Maintain up-to-date vendor records, respond to vendor inquiries, reconcile statements, and resolve discrepancies
  • Process customer invoices, record incoming payments, and maintain accurate accounts receivable records
  • Follow up on outstanding receivables and investigate discrepancies as required
  • Enter, verify, and reconcile financial data, including bank statements and general ledger accounts
  • Prepare and process employee expense reports and credit card reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly, year-end, and other periodic reconciliations and closing activities
  • Perform bi-weekly bank deposits
  • Support the operations team with processing sales orders, purchase orders, and packing slips as needed
  • Provide administrative support to the Office Manager as required
  • Cover reception duties during breaks and absences
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, based on skills and organizational needs

*REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION: *

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar accounting or bookkeeping role
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks (required)
  • Experience with Fishbowl and/or Microsoft 365 considered an asset
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills
  • Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Dependable, proactive, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment
