EXECUTIVE OFFICER – Greater Moncton Home Builders Association Moncton, N.B.

The Greater Moncton Home Builders’ Association (GMHBA) is a non-profit, industry association comprised of builders, renovators, land developers, manufacturers, suppliers, utility representatives, mortgage lenders, realtors, architects, government representatives, professional people and others engaged in the residential construction industry. Representing over 80 businesses in Greater Moncton and the surrounding area (and steadily growing), the GMHBA is the voice of the industry advocating on behalf of members and consumers.

Personnel Search Ltd. is currently engaged in assisting the GMBHA in its search for a new Executive Officer.

Key roles and responsibilities include: Chief Administrator: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensure legal/bylaw compliance, and maintain official corporate records. Strategic Execution: Implement Board policies, strategic plans, annual operational objectives, and performance metrics. Board Support: Serve as primary liaison to the Board, prepare meeting materials/agendas, record minutes, and advise on governance best practices. Budgeting & Reporting: Develop annual budgets and forecasts; prepare monthly and year-end financial reports for the Board. Operations & Oversight: Oversee daily financial tasks (AP/AR, reconciliations) with accounting partners, coordinate annual audits/tax filings, and enforce risk controls. Growth & Engagement: Implement recruitment and retention strategies while serving as the main contact for member support and inquiries. Administration: Oversee member databases, renewals, onboarding, and program promotion. Policy & Advocacy: Monitor municipal, provincial, and federal issues affecting residential construction; draft responses to policy consultations. Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the Association with elected officials, industry partners, affiliated organizations, and community groups. Brand & Outreach: Direct overall branding, member communications, website content, newsletters, social media, and PR releases. Execution & Sponsorships: Oversee all Association events and programs—including support for the Home Show Manager—while securing sponsorships and managing event budgets. Team Oversight: Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and contractors while ensuring employment law compliance and maintaining a collaborative workplace culture. Future Planning: Identify emerging industry trends and present recommendations to the Board to enhance organizational sustainability and member value. Manage general correspondence, draft briefing notes/reports, maintain strict confidentiality, and perform other duties assigned by the Board.

Qualified individuals will possess: Effective communication skills in both French and English Completion of post-secondary education (degree or diploma) 5+ years of relevant management experience (ideally within a not-for-profit, association, or member-based organization). Strong strategic planning, organizational, and financial management skills. Computer skills using software such as Microsoft Office. Connection to/or previous experience working in or supplying to the residential construction sector would be an asset Experience reporting to a Board of Directors would be considered an asset.

While some remote work is possible, regular in-office presence is expected.

The GMHBA is the local organization of the CHBA-NB which is the provincial association. Three other local organizations are located in Saint John, Fredericton, and the Sussex and District region.
