About the role
SMS is looking for a Supervisor, Administration to support our Reman operations by overseeing administrative teams and ensuring accurate work order processing, financial reporting, and compliance with company policies and procedures. This role provides day‑to‑day leadership, coordination, and problem‑solving across branch administration functions while supporting operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Work Location: Acheson, AB.
Salary: $80,000 to $90,000 per annum.
Work Arrangement: Fixed on site – working from the branch each day.
Schedule: Monday to Friday.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise and coordinate the daily workload of administrative and office personnel supporting Reman operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of Reman and inter‑branch work order transactions in alignment with company policies and accounting practices.
- Prepare reconciliations, adjustments, and financial reports related to branch work orders and transactions.
- Review workflows and authorize work instructions to support efficient and compliant administrative processes.
- Act as a subject matter expert for resolving complex work order transaction and reporting issues.
- Support profitability and continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate purchase order and invoice reconciliation prior to billing.
- Provide guidance and support for aged WIP reporting and labour transfer reporting.
- Coach, develop, and evaluate team members, including performance management and identifying training needs.
- Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with production, parts, and service teams to support effective Reman operations.
- Provide administrative, human resources, and safety support as required.
What You Bring
The successful candidate will bring supervisory experience within an industrial or mining‑related environment, along with strong administrative, financial, and process‑driven expertise. A background supporting complex work order transactions and cross‑functional teams is essential.
Other requirements include:
- 5+ years of supervisory experience, preferably within mining or a related industrial environment.
- Post‑secondary education in business, administration, accounting, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of branch accounting, financial reporting, and work order processes.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop administrative teams.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with computerized information systems and Microsoft Office tools.
