About the role
AM Haulage is seeking an experienced Operations & Administration Manager to oversee the day-to-day administrative and financial operations of our growing transportation company. Reporting directly to the Owner, this individual will ensure the office operates efficiently, financial processes are accurate, compliance requirements are met, and staff are effectively managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
- Ensure customer invoicing is completed accurately and on time.
- Review and prepare financial documentation for the company’s external accountant.
- Supervise office administrators, bookkeepers, and administrative staff.
- Ensure drivers are paid accurately and payroll information is submitted on time.
- Maintain driver files, insurance documents, permits, and compliance records.
- Coordinate with insurance providers, WSIB, and regulatory agencies as required.
- Oversee safety and compliance documentation to ensure company policies and legal requirements are met.
- Develop and improve office procedures and internal controls.
- Monitor cash flow, outstanding receivables, and administrative performance.
- Support the Owner with operational planning, reporting, and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure all administrative functions are completed accurately and on schedule.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of management experience in transportation, construction, or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and invoicing.
- Experience supervising office staff and leading administrative teams.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office.
- Experience working with external accountants, insurance providers, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation
