About the role:
Our clients count on us to make the legal process seamless and efficient from scheduling court reporters and legal videographers to ensuring transcripts are delivered on time and flawlessly accurate. As a Billing Manager (Canada) you will maximize Company profitability and revenue stream by creating accurate, complete and timely client and sub-contractor billing.

What you'll get to do:

  • Understand operational targets and strive to meet and exceed

  • Fully understand and utilize all system functions as they relate to your position and their impact on other functions
  • Ensure that departmental training materials are current, effective and utilized
  • Analyze departmental performance and results; make suggestions for improvement
  • Balance workload among staff; delegate work to team members
  • Provide leadership, guidance and insight to colleagues
  • Effectively manage the team by setting goals and metrics, monitoring performance and establishing operational improvements
  • Manage team attendance (i.e. approving time sheets, time off requests)
  • Partner with the learning and development team to support team growth and development
  • Recruit, train, coach and develop staff to yield a high performing team
  • Use all applicable tools to the fullest to perform managerial and analytical tasks
  • Adhere to all financial policies including COD, Bad Debt, Direct Costs, etc.
  • Manage end-to-end billing cycles
  • Address complex billing issues from clients, Sales and other functions
  • Address subcontractor invoices related to services, copies, rates, etc.
  • Identify opportunities to improve billing efficiency, automate processes and implement best practices
  • Analyze client and reporter billing rates as necessary and make recommendations for changes to management
  • Prepare billing reports for Management
  • Monitor monthly billing adjustments and address gaps
  • Lead collaboration meetings with other functional managers on a monthly basis
  • Analyze and discuss monthly revenue/COGS performance with management
  • Analyze data using all relevant tools and present solutions and ideas (i.e. billing reports)
  • Maximize revenue and gross profit by analyzing invoices, trends, product/services, etc.
  • Perform regional/local pricing review and setting new rates for discussion with management
  • Support client contract rate negotiation in collaboration with Director and Regional Vice President
  • Provide financial reporting and ensure compliance with internal fiscal controls
  • Set targets for the billing team to effectively manage personal and operational performances

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years relevant experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office (advance excel and Power Point)
  • Analytical thinking and attention to details
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service oriented with strong interpersonal skills
  • Dedicated professional, with the ability to respond to requests promptly and accurately
  • Proactive and motivated with strong problem-solving skills and forward-thinking capabilities
