The Administrative Assistant role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Head Office Medical Consulting team including sorting and processing mail, assigning and supporting work for the team, and handling administrative duties on a day-to-day basis. The Head Office Medical Consulting team provides critical support to Workplace Solutions. Group disability is the largest client, but the team also supports other lines of business including life, medical, drug, underwriting, out of country and critical illness. What you will do:
Appeal, Complaint, and Referral file assignment In-office mail and other duties Handle lawyer’s letters Contracts Email inbox monitoring External Rehab invoice and data entry Mail and scanning duties Provide and participate in cross training. Act as back-up when needed Other admin tasks as required
What you will bring:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in an administrative role Strong communication skills, both written and verbal to varying audiences, including proofreading with keen attention to detail Well-developed organizational and time management skills Motivated self-starter with ability to work independently and productively as part of a team while managing competing priorities to deliver business results Strong technical skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and document management software (M-Files, Relativity) Excellent interpersonal and client services skills; professional and positive demeanour Experience working with highly sensitive and confidential information as part of daily duties Able to work in-office 3 days per week Reliability Status security clearance - this is a personnel security status that is required before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website
The base salary for this position is between $34,900 - $47,200 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
