Accounting & Asset Manager.
About the role
You trained in audit, but reviewing other people's work was never the plan. You want to build.
This is a rare seat to do it: own the books and help run the assets at a growing private equity firm, with real autonomy and a direct line to the partners.
Pantone Investment Management is a Canadian PE firm focused on self-storage and real assets. We run a concentrated portfolio, work with patient capital, and keep the team small and the standard high.
You will own our accounting and help us run our assets. You will start alongside our current CFO, learn the function inside out, and grow into owning it. Senior finance support stays on call. But the goal is plain: you own it.
This is a deliberately broad mandate. The range is what makes the seat rare.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN The books. The core of the role, and more than month-end close. You will run the full accounting cycle across our holding company and each property partnership: close, reconciliations, AP and cheque approvals, intercompany transfers, bank sweeps, and the operating spend that keeps the portfolio running, including property taxes, utilities, and insurance renewals. You will produce the management financials we put in front of investors. Multi-entity, hands-on, and precise. This is where audit training earns its keep.
The assets. Keeping our self-storage and real estate assets healthy, their costs in check, and driving increased NOI. You will track how each site performs (occupancy, rate, revenue, expenses, NOI, variance to budget), watch spending like an owner, and support our on-site managers and operators. You will report directly to the partners and work with real autonomy. And you will own value-creation projects end to end, from expansions like adding a building to an existing site to other capital initiatives that grow asset value.
Investors and deals. Supporting investor reporting and distributions through our portal, and helping run acquisitions and new offerings as we add assets, from standing up new entities to tracking the raise. You will own your piece of it from day one.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR Early in your career but unusually capable, and hungry to build. Specifically: CPA, or close to it, with 2 to 3 years in audit or assurance at a Big 4 or strong mid-tier firm Leaving audit because you want to do the work and own the outcome, not review it The drive to build something, not just maintain it Able to move between the books and the asset management without dropping either You see the whole picture, how reporting, operations, and tax connect, not four separate boxes Self-directed to a fault. You find the next problem before someone hands it to you A clear, direct communicator with the confidence to push back, challenge assumptions, and say what you think Relentlessly organized and efficient with your time, your data, and your workflows Open and eager to use AI and technology tools to clear bottlenecks Real estate or real assets experience is welcome, not required
This role rewards hustle, range, and ownership over raw years of experience. If you need a defined lane and clear instructions, it is not for you. If you want to build something and grow into running finance for a firm on the way up, it may be the best seat you will find.
If this is you, we want to hear from you.
