<div>Select People Solutions is pleased to be working with the Aboriginal Housing Society as they search for an Accountant to support the organization’s financial operations through accurate reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis. This role is responsible for preparing financial statements, management reports, and summaries while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Through strong leadership, advocacy, tenant-focused services, and meaningful community relationships, AHS is dedicated to improving housing accessibility and creating positive long-term impact.<br><br>What’s in it for You?<br>• Competitive compensation and opportunities for professional growth<br>• Join a supportive team and leadership group that values collaboration, respect, and shared success<br>• Play a key role in improving daily operations and supporting the organization through growth<br>• Benefit Package</div><div><br>Compensation & Hours:<br>• The rate of pay will be 70K/year<br>• Monday through Friday, daytime hours</div><div><br>Position Summary:<br>• Prepare and coordinate financial statements, management reports, and financial summaries<br>• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes while monitoring financial accuracy<br>• Work closely with the Executive Director on financial reporting, analysis, and organizational budgeting initiatives<br>• Oversee day-to-day finance operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end processes<br>• Maintain accurate financial controls and ensure the integrity of financial systems and reporting practices<br><br>• Provide additional financial and administrative support as required by the Executive Director<br>Required Qualifications:<br>• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field<br>• Minimum 5 years of progressive full-cycle accounting or senior bookkeeping experience<br>• Strong experience with accounts payable/receivable, payroll, month-end processes, and financial reporting<br>• Strong appreciation and understanding of Indigenous history, culture, and working with diverse communities<br>• Ability to successfully complete a Criminal Record Check (and Vulnerable Sector Check if required)<br>• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and strong overall computer skills<br>Bonus Points For:<br>• Experience working within Indigenous organizations, housing, or community-focused non-profit environments<br>• Previous experience with grant funding administration, reporting, and compliance tracking<br>• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools<br>• Experience supporting audits, board reporting, or multi-program financial management<br>• Strong understanding of budgeting within government-funded or grant-funded organizations</div><div><br>Right People.
