A career as an Advisor, Custody Operations at National Bank Trust means acting as a subject matter expert in custody operations and providing support for institutional investment activities. In this role, you will make a meaningful impact through your expertise in custody operations, operational risk management, and continuous improvement. Your role Serve as a subject matter expert in custody operations, cash management, trade settlement, and related operational activities. Support portfolio managers and business partners in resolving complex issues and implementing effective, scalable solutions. Analyze operational exceptions, reconciliation breaks, and process-related incidents to ensure long-term resolution. Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, improve processes, increase automation, and enhance operational efficiency. Contribute to strategic transformation initiatives, onboarding of new clients, and modernization of the operating model. Monitor operational risks and ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements while sharing your expertise with colleagues. Your team As part of the Custody Operations sector, you will join a team recognized for its operational excellence, strong risk management practices, and commitment to continuous improvement. The team consists of specialists who work in an agile, proactive, and collaborative environment to support institutional clients and investment management activities across Canada. You will report to a manager dedicated to supporting business growth while delivering a superior client experience. Our team stands out through its collaboration, expertise, and commitment to ongoing improvement. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Minimum of five years of experience in custody operations, securities operations, investment operations, fund administration, or a related area within the financial services industry. Strong knowledge of transaction processing, trade settlements, cash management, reconciliations, and operational controls. Solid understanding of the transaction lifecycle, securities settlement processes, corporate actions, collateral management, and reconciliation activities. Experience participating in transformation, automation, or process optimization initiatives. Experience working with institutional clients or within an asset management, custody services, or investment management environment. Knowledge of French is an asset.
