As an Actuarial Analyst I, you will contribute to corporate initiatives. You will collaborate with your peers to support actuarial projects to ensure the profitability of property and casualty (P&C) lines of business. You will work on commercial auto related projects.

HOW YOU WILL CREATE IMPACT: 

  • Joining strategic initiatives in a highly collaborative team of commercial auto pricing actuaries impacting multiple entities. Develop expertise and build rating engine using Earnix.
  • Assisting with a variety of pricing projects, including analyzing portfolio profitability, developing and improving rating algorithms, impact analysis and supporting rate implementation.
  • Working with advanced modeling softwares, various data sources programming languages to contribute to Actuarial initiatives.
  • Communicating actuarial concepts to your peers and maintaining documentation of key actuarial functions.
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge of data sources including the ability to reconcile to other sources.
  • Maintaining and updating documentation of key actuarial functions, and upholding company and professional policies and procedures.

 

TO JOIN OUR TEAM:  

  • Having knowledge of commercial auto is an asset.
  • You have completed a post-secondary degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science or related discipline.
  • Having or working towards the ACAS or FCAS designations is an asset.
  • Having basic knowledge of modeling softwares and programming languages such as Earnix or other live rating engines is an asset.
  • Relevant experience in the Property and Casualty actuarial field is an asset.
  • This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.

Salary information

Expected salary $57,822.00 to $96,370.00 CAD

Salary placement

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.

Incentive/Variable pay

Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
