About the role
CanCap Group Inc. (“CCMI”) is an evolving, dynamic national financial services company with head office located in downtown Toronto. CCMI’s current core business is indirect and third-party originations and servicing of auto and consumer loan receivables, which has been built on a foundation of best-in-class people and processes. It manages the entire lifecycle of the receivable from credit adjudication through to contract administration, customer service, default management and post charge-off recoveries.
What the role looks like
The Business Systems Analyst is an accountable delivery contributor who works closely with technology partners, business stakeholders, and external vendors to translate complex business needs into effective technology solutions. At this level, you own end-to-end delivery for your assigned workstreams; driving requirements, coordinating across partners, and seeing initiatives through from discovery to production.
Core Mandate
- Diagnose and define core business challenges: Proactively elicit, document, and translate complex business needs into precise functional specifications, ensuring a clear understanding of the underlying problems to be solved.
- Identify and optimize inefficient processes: Analyze existing business processes to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement, then design and advocate for solutions that deliver operational efficiency.
- Decipher complex business logic: Interpret business rules and processes to identify potential issues and inform solution design.
- Mitigate solution discrepancies: Critically evaluate vendor solution documents, performing thorough traceability against initial requirements to identify gaps or misalignments. Coordinate with vendor partners on solution iteration, driving alignment and securing stakeholder consensus on corrective actions.
- Vendor & partner coordination: Coordinate with vendors and third-party partners on assigned initiatives. Track open items, facilitate solution iteration discussions, and escalate misalignments to the Product Manager. Maintain a clear record of commitments and follow through to ensure external partners meet delivery expectations.
- Validate solution effectiveness: Own UAT coordination for assigned initiatives. Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, manage defect triage, track readiness across delivery teams, and support sign-off activities. Ensure systems meet end-user criteria and flag deficiencies before production deployment.
- Bridge the gap between requirements and validation: Guide testing teams in transforming requirements and use cases into precise test conditions and expected results for all testing phases (product, performance, user acceptance, operational acceptance), occasionally conducting full end-to-end testing to confirm problem resolution.
- Anticipate and resolve project roadblocks: Own delivery progress for assigned initiatives. Accurately scope efforts, estimate timelines, and proactively identify and mitigate dependencies and blockers. Drive resolution and communicate status clearly to stakeholders; ensuring your workstreams stay on track and commitments are met.
- Enhance solution development methodologies: Drive improvements in requirement documentation, testing frameworks, and enhancement intake processes by establishing and implementing best practices and templates to prevent future issues.
- Ensure seamless solution deployment: Coordinate effectively with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure the smooth and problem-free deployment of new solutions into production environments.
