About the role
As the Global Benefits Lead at Husky, you will be responsible for leading the design, governance, administration, and continuous improvement of the company’s global benefits programs. This role will influence global benefits strategy, support competitive and cost-effective plan design, and partner closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure programs remain compliant, sustainable, and aligned with business and employee needs. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical capability, deep benefits expertise, and the ability to translate data, market practice, and business requirements into practical recommendations and effective program delivery.
This is a contract role for a period of 16 to 18 months
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Global Benefits Strategy and Plan Design Lead the design, review, and optimization of global benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement savings, and related employee benefit plans. Conduct annual reviews of global benefit plans and spend to identify short- and long-term opportunities to improve competitiveness, cost effectiveness, employee experience, and sustainability. Develop data-driven recommendations that align benefits strategy with business priorities, market practice, compliance requirements, and employee needs. Vendor Management and RFPs Lead benefits RFPs for plan redesign and vendor selection, including requirements development, selection criteria, evaluation, eAuction support, implementation planning, communication planning, and change management. Manage global vendor, broker, and consultant relationships to ensure strong service delivery, effective issue resolution, and ongoing program improvement. Partner with external brokers and advisors to evaluate plan performance, market trends, renewal activity, and cost management opportunities. Benefits Administration and Compliance Oversee annual open enrollment processes in the US, including planning, employee education, testing, communications, and issue resolution. Maintain benefits plan configuration in Oracle HCM and act as the primary benefits support contact for HR teams to investigate, review, and resolve configuration or administration issues. Complete required annual compliance reporting and support ongoing compliance activities across applicable benefit programs. Partner with HR, Finance, Payroll, Legal, regional teams, brokers, consultants, and vendors to ensure benefits programs are administered accurately, consistently, and in compliance with applicable requirements. Pension Plan Support Support annual pension plan audits as required for Canada and the US. Facilitate pension committee meetings in Canada and the US by reviewing materials, coordinating with consultants, preparing meeting inputs, and ensuring appropriate representation. Coordinate employee education sessions for Canada and the US, including scheduling external educators, preparing materials, participating in sessions, and identifying local support as required. Employee Support and Subject Matter Expertise Provide subject matter expertise and escalation support for complex benefits and pension inquiries. Support employee communications and education to improve understanding of benefits programs and changes. Monitor opportunities to improve processes, employee experience, governance, and service delivery across benefits programs. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: University degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 7 years of progressive benefits experience, including plan design, cost analysis, vendor management, benefits administration, and program governance. Direct experience leading or supporting benefits redesigns, vendor changes, RFPs, implementations, and change management activities. Experience with Oracle HCM Benefits and Compensation, or a similar HRIS platform. Direct experience with global benefits is an asset. Strong analytical, numerical, and data manipulation skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify insights, and develop practical recommendations. Advanced Excel skills. Strong project management, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with confidential information, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively across multiple regions and stakeholder groups.
Pay Range: $95,000 - $110,000
