Description
Our Client is initiating a major transformation: migrating our core Finance and Risk Data Platform (FRDP) to SAP Fioneer while modernizing our enterprise financial systems.
The Senior Business Analyst in this role will need to operate with high strategic influence. In this role, you won't just gather requirements—you will act as a strategic translator between quantitative risk modeling, financial accounting policy, and technical software architecture. You will lead discussions with Managing Director-level leaders across Risk, Finance, Treasury, and Capital Markets, driving alignment and accountability across complex, multi-year initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Stakeholder Management & Executive Influence Lead high-stakes discussions with Managing Director-level stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Treasury, and Capital Markets to drive executive consensus and project momentum. Cut through complexity to significantly elevate the signal-to-noise ratio in executive meetings, translating disparate priorities into actionable project outcomes.
- Complex Domain Translation & Architecture Mapping Bridge the domain gap: Translate complex Risk models (e.g., Stochastics, PD/LGD) into standard Finance entries (Double-entry accounting, Trial Balances, Multi-GAAP IFRS/GAAP) and down into technical IT specifications (ETL flows, APIs, JSON schemas). Lead "Data Archeology" efforts to audit legacy enterprise infrastructure, map historical data flows, and establish Global Blueprints for accounting rules engine logic.
- End-to-End Requirements Leadership & Governance Plan and execute end-to-end business analysis activities using workshops, interviews, and deep-dive technical sessions. Author comprehensive functional specifications, use cases, user stories, and technical system specs. Build and maintain a rigorous Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) to ensure 100% coverage of regulatory, risk, and financial reporting compliance standards.
- Risk Mitigation, Testing & Execution Conduct deep-dive gap and variance analyses between current-state systems and future-state SAP Fioneer architecture. Proactively identify architectural risks, including data lineage breaks, complex accounting event edge-cases, and non-functional bottlenecks (scalability, processing latency, system performance). Guide and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) execution, ensuring business partners and regulatory auditors receive validated, audit-ready deliverables.
Qualifications
8+ years of progressive experience as a Senior/Lead Business Analyst within Financial Services, Corporate Banking, or Capital Markets. Hands-on project experience with large-scale financial transformations (e.g., SAP Fioneer, SAP FPSL, Oracle Financials, or modernizing enterprise Finance & Risk Data Hubs). Proven track record of translating complex quantitative risk metrics (Probability of Default, Loss Given Default, EAD, Stress Testing) into accounting postings and technical IT artifacts. Key Competencies Executive Presence: Outstanding communication and facilitation skills, with a proven ability to influence senior executives without explicit authority. Technical & Financial Literacy: Strong grasp of double-entry accounting principles, IFRS/GAAP compliance, ETL pipelines, REST APIs, and data modeling formats (JSON/XML). Delivery Drive: Self-directed and fast-paced, with a track record of owning deliverables end-to-end in ambiguity. Education and Certifications Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, Quantitative Finance, or a related field. Master’s Degree (MBA, M.Sc. Finance) is considered a strong asset. Certifications (Preferred / High Advantage) CBAP® (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or CCBA® CFA® (Chartered Financial Analyst) or FRM® (Financial Risk Manager) PMP® or Agile Certifications (CSPO, SAFe Agilist) Relevant SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Fioneer / Financial Products Subledger exposure)
