About the role
Our top financial client is looking for a talented Junior Content Designer to join its team in Toronto on a hybrid basis!
As a Content Designer, you will shape the digital conversations we have with our clients across every product interface. Success in this role requires a strategic mindset toward content creation and delivery—knowing precise answers to what we communicate, how we say it, and where each message lands best.
You will partner with cross-functional disciplines to establish the core value of our digital products. You’ll ensure that every touchpoint—from promotional messaging to transactional flows—consistently reflects that value throughout the user journey. Simply put: you will leverage content to bridge the gap between product capabilities and client priorities.
What You Will Do
Content Strategy
Develop actionable content strategies that address client information needs across our digital product portfolio. Lead collaborative design workshops, ideation sessions, and co-creation activities. Clearly articulate the reasoning behind content strategy decisions and offer design guidance to team members. Guide the broader design team on internal communication standards, tools, channels, and best practices. Serve as a client advocate, championing user needs during product design decisions and evaluating how content impacts the overall user experience.
Content Creation
Craft clear, client-centric UI copy that aligns with our core design principles and product goals—including microcopy, tooltips, hidden/alt text, metadata, and in-app or go-to-market copy. Partner with team members to shape non-textual assets, including iconography, info graphics, visuals, and data displays. Integrate Inclusive Design principles directly into your content design and creation process. Work alongside Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory partners to ensure all digital communications satisfy governing standards. Oversee content documentation and lifecycle management from creation to archive.
Research & Testing
Collaborate with Design Researchers to help the team identify key questions to answer through usability research. Partner with Design and Testing Leads to plan and execute tests measuring the effectiveness of specific copy and content strategies. Analyze competitor messaging and complete competitive audits tailored to project goals. Conduct content audits when necessary to identify gaps and optimization opportunities.
What You Will Bring
Education: Post-secondary degree or college diploma preferred. Experience: 4+ years of professional writing experience within an agency or in-house creative team. Skills: Strong critical thinking and structured problem-solving abilities. Language: Professional fluency in English. Portfolio: Demonstrable work samples showing real-world copywriting and UX writing examples.
Nice to Have
Professional working knowledge or fluency in French. Practical understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive content practices. Strong interest in emerging design, UX, and technology trends.
What’s In It For You
An Inclusive Culture: Join a supportive design community where your ideas are valued, heard, and backed by expert peers. Massive Scale: Build solutions used daily by millions of people within an organization recognized globally for digital innovation. Meaningful Impact: Work with a team expanding the boundaries of product design to improve lives across the communities we serve. Practice Leadership: Help elevate Content Design as a discipline locally and serve as a benchmark for peers worldwide.
