Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Operations Lead (Accounting) role based in Toronto, ON. The Operations Lead will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing activities. The role involves coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and adherence to internal controls. The Operations Lead will review and streamline accounting processes, implement best practices, and support audit preparation and documentation. This position will also supervise and mentor accounting team members, monitor workload and deadlines, and work closely with leadership to provide financial insights that support operational decisions. Qualifications Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end closing processes. Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as MS Excel and other common productivity tools. Experience in operations-focused accounting, including process improvement, internal controls, and workflow optimization. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and support accounting or finance team members in a fast-paced environment. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and senior leadership. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Operations Management or a related field; a professional accounting designation (CPA or in progress) is an asset. Experience in financial services, payments, or technology environments is preferred, but not required. Ability to work on-site in Toronto, ON, with a commitment to ethical, inclusive, and non-discriminatory workplace practices.
